(Los Angeles, CA) - Black-owned radio station owners Aulsondro “Novelist” Hamilton aka Emcee N.I.C.E. and Chantal “Chanie G” Grayson are producing and self-funding God’s House of Hip Hop 20/20 Summer Fest, the biggest Faith-Based Hip Hop, Christian Hip Hop (CHH), Latin CHH, and Gospel Hip Hop music festival ever in North America. The two-day event happening at the Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles on September 17 and 18 features more than 70 local, national, and international artists, 7 DJs, and 3 legendary hosts: Kurtis Blow, Chris Chicago, and Willie Moore Jr. Both in-person and streaming, one-day and two-day tickets can be purchased at: https://2020summerfest.frontgatetickets.com/

Emcee N.I.C.E. and Grayson pooled their resources to finance the event. N.I.C.E. is a Grammy-nominated, Billboard chart-topping gospel recording artist and producer. Grayson is a real estate broker. The co-owners of the Stellar Award-winning God’s House of Hip Hop radio station powered by DASH Radio, were nominated this year, for the Internet Station of the Year by the Stellar Awards, marking their third consecutive nomination.

The 20/20 Summer Fest production duo envision developing the event into a family-friendly “Coachella™ in the city” for purpose-centered clean hip hop music, Grayson says. “Not like your typical hip hop festivals, this particular festival is 100 percent faith-driven hip hop,” she says, “and is important because it lets the world know that there is a clean alternative that does exist when it comes to hip hop, one that all families can not only listen to but come to watch and enjoy without worry. Plus, in the climate of what’s happening now, it’s very much needed.”

The lineup is filled with artists with notable acclaim. Wande is a cast member of the new Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) reality series “Young & Gospel.” Joey Vantes’ music was used in campaigns for Christian Dior, Starbucks, Nike, and HBO. Angie Rose and Emcee N.I.C.E.’s songs appear in the Taraji P. Henson movie, “What Men Want,” and the Academy Award-winning film “Crash,” respectively. While other CHH artists like Swoope joins Milwaukee Bucks player and 2020 NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo in a JBL earbuds commercial, 1K Phew has a song placed on the NBA 2K20 soundtrack, and Shepherd’s “Gametime” song landed in the stadiums of the MLB and NFL.

Using his experiences as an entertainer and executive producer has been instrumental in helping Emcee N.I.C.E. and Grayson develop a top-notch artist relations package for the festival. “In planning God’s House of Hip Hop 20/20 Summer Fest, we took into consideration what most festivals do and don’t do when it comes to artists,” N.I.C.E. says. “From travel accommodations to lodging to transportation, we felt that giving artists A-1 treatment all around would create a synergy that leads to a win-win for both of us. The artists will use their influence and tell the world how they were treated.”

When the original festival date was postponed last year due to the pandemic, Emcee N.I.C.E. and Grayson quickly regrouped to come up with a new plan. Ryan Northcott, Banc of California Stadium / Los Angeles Football Club EVP, Entertainment and Development, commends Emcee N.I.C.E. and Grayson on their business acumen and resilience. “Emcee N.I.C.E. and Chantal are ideal producers,” Northcott said. “While everyone was contemplating their next moves, they were in motion, researching to get a better understanding of the pandemic and then readjust their festival plans to accommodate. They approached me with a game plan for 20/20 Summer Fest 2021 understanding what the new guidelines could be and what restrictions will be in place. It made complete sense and here we are.”

Emcee N.I.C.E. and Grayson are garnering attention in a space where there are few Black-owned festival owners. “Other than people like James Spooner with Afropunk Festival and Floyd Mayweather in boxing,” Emcee N.I.C.E. says, “I am not aware of any Pasquale Rotella (EDC), Paul Tollett (Coachella), and or Russell Faibisch (Ultra Fest) on the African American side of things in the festival world. I know they are out there. They are just not getting a lot of attention, just like us. We are planning to change that mindset.”

About Dash

Dash Radio was created by the world’s biggest DJs who became fed up with the limitations of regular FM radio (and hate internet playlists that pose as radio powered by soulless computers). Together, they formed Dash with one goal: to provide the best radio platform in the world. This means all the variety you ever wanted with zero commercials … oh ya, all live 24/7, for free.

Dash Radio works hard to provide the best radio experience in the world (seriously, there are live DJs in the studio right now 24/7) but please tell them what you want to hear, add, or change as they are constantly evolving. If you like what you hear and want to help them grow, tell your friends to join the evolution of radio. Thanks for being down with Dash on day one.
